Paul Silveria and Sparky Spurr at Tractorgrease on Thursday, January 24th at 7pm.
Paul Silveria
Paul is a musician, dance caller, teacher, and community organizer who has a connection at the heart of his work. His performances include classic old-time tunes paired with the histories behind them as well as original songs written with the directness of old-time storytelling.
Originally from Portland Oregon, and now living in Vancouver BC, Paul has been an active member of the West Coast music traditional music community for since 2002. Just a few appearances include The Vancouver Folk Festival, The Mission Folk Festival, The Vancouver Fringe Festival, Nimble Fingers, the Portland Old Time Music Gathering, Seattle's Folklife Festival, and many more!
Sparky Spurr
"Sparky Spurr, a Vancouver actor and musician, loves to entertain! Playing guitar since she was 18, Sparky has been writing songs ever since. Raised on gospel music, Sparky took a detour through punk, then landed squarely in the middle of the bluegrass community, all of which have influenced her music.
Equal parts silly, sassy, and serious, you never quite know what you are going to get when Sparky shows up! People have dubbed her “Queen of Country Cute”, and once you’ve experienced her live, you’ll know why. She plays in a few other bands, including the old-timey all-woman band The Estro-Jennies, and the old-school country band The Anti-Fogmatics….look for them around Vancouver!
