Chicken-Like Birds are back again!!! Why? Because they're awesome. Saturday May 6th at 7pm Ari and Jas will be folking up Tractorgrease Cafe. They'll be bringing their pals Marina and the Specks (with John K. from No Mothers)

Chicken-Like Birds is the combination of Ari Lantela who is known for his refined sloppy blues guitar picking and Jasmin Frederickson who plays a mean double bass. Together they sing their original country blues and ragtime songs about adventure, independent women, how to cook a mean batch of cornbread and the pair's strange relationship. Slap in some on-stage antics, a few funny stories and some strangely endearing awkwardness and you've got Chicken-Like Birds. Their second year as a duo has seen them opening for blue's legend Curtis Salgado, playing at festivals and shows all over Western Canada and putting out a full length album. The Canadian Pacific Blues Society has called their performance a “fantastic old- school acoustic experience.”

Marina and the Specks: Sprouting from classical and musical theatre roots, Marina performs psych-folk songs about life, death, stormy weather and cosmic love. Alongside her will be the viola weilding John K. from No Mothers.
